Welcome to The Kittchen. I am Kit Graham and I write The Kittchen. And I love it. Cooking, eating, traveling, and writing all about it is a dream come true. My goal is to inspire you to get into the kitchen and cook at home, try new restaurants when you are dining out, and to travel to new destinations.
I am originally from Kennebunk, Maine. I studied art history at UMass Dartmouth, SACI Florence, and Sotheby’s Institute of Art in New York City. I had every intention of working in the arts, but the recession didn’t really create jobs in the art field, so my life moved in another direction.
I moved to Chicago in 2008 and met my husband, Charles, 7 weeks later. Charles came up with the idea for this site and had friends set it up for me in 2011 and in 2015 I quit my 9-5 job to blog full time.
I also run the Windy City Blogger Collective, a community for bloggers in the Chicago area based on the values of support and encouragement. WCBC is a resource for bloggers and a networking group. We strive to connect our members to the brands and opportunities they love, while fostering a welcoming environment where everyone can learn from each other.
About The Kittchen
This site is about food and travel. You will find original recipes, restaurant reviews, and stories from my travels.
My recipes are a mix of family recipes and recipes I invent inspired by meals I loved at restaurants and current food trends. My favorite foods are cheese, chocolate, red wine, and tacos. You can find my favorite recipes right here.
I travel a lot and share one travel post per week. I visit about 15 different places each year. Last year I went to San Francisco, Salt Lake City, Los Angeles, St. Petersburg, Delray Beach, New York City, Costa Rica, Utah’s State and National Parks, Nashville, Finland, Iceland, London, Austin, Tokyo, Singapore, Indonesia, and Boston. You can find links to all my travel posts here.
Since The Kittchen was founded, my work has been featured on sites including Better Homes and Gardens, The Everygirl, Buzzfeed, MSN, The Huffington Post, and TODAY. I have contributed to publications including Spoonful and Midwest Living and worked with brands including Coca-Cola, TripAdvisor, NFL Homegating, Jewel-Osco, and Minted. You can read more about my past collaborations here.
