Casa Beatnik - A Charming Boutique Hotel in Galicia

Published: Jul 8, 2025 by Kit · This post may contain affiliate links · Leave a Comment

Casa Beatnik is a charming boutique hotel in Galicia, the northwestern-most region of Spain. Located off the beaten path, but just 25 minutes from Santiago de Compostela, Casa Beatnik offers guests the opportunity to lounge at the pool, dine at exceptional restaurants, and play pickleball and tennis.

Casa Beatnik is owned by Bonhomme Hospitality, the same hospitality group that owns Chicago restaurants Beatnik, Mama Delia, Bordel, Bambola, Good Funk, Kashmir, and Botanico. Bonhomme dining concepts are known for their colorful, eclectic, maximalist design aesthetic. Casa Beatnik embraces vibrant colors, textures, and unique furniture to create a truly creative style. You feel cooler just by being there.

We appreciated how every last design detail was considered, from the light switches to the latches on the doors, hooks, lighting, and bar stools.

Every detail was utilized as an opportunity to enhance the design aesthetic.

The hotel offers both rooms in the main building and several yurts in the vineyard. We stayed in the main building and loved our spacious and comfortable room. I adored the bold design of the bathroom and the ultra-soft bed.

Casa Beatnik isn’t in the center of town, so it’s convenient that there are two excellent restaurants on site. Tribu is a modern take on Galician cuisine, while Bambola serves bold Italian cuisine influenced by the Silk Road. The meals at Tribu and Bambola were the best meals we had in Galicia.

When we were in Santiago de Compostela, it felt like the restaurants all had the same menus, as they all highlighted regional cuisine. Tribu and Bambola provided a refreshing change while still highlighting regional seasonal ingredients.

Produce for both restaurants is grown in the gardens on the property. A caprese salad with fresh blue tomatoes and burrata was so incredible that we ordered it at both lunch and dinner.

Knowing that Casa Beatnik is off the beaten path and not near a town, you might be wondering what to do. My answer: relax! The pool area is divine!

We lounged on a super comfortable poolside daybed, read, enjoyed the fun playlist, took dips in the pool, and sipped the occasional cocktail. When we were at Casa Beatnik, the sun didn’t set until 10:15 pm, so we were at the pool until 7:30!

In addition to the two restaurants, Casa Beatnik has a bar beside the pool and a bar inside next to Tribu. Both feature impossibly cool design elements. I can't get over the bar stools.

There are so many areas to relax and gather with friends. The large fire pit seating area nestled within the vineyard was a quiet place to end the night.

Lastly, the hospitality was outstanding. Casa Beatnik is a smaller hotel, so the staff gets to know the guests. They knew our names, learned our drink preferences, and made us feel welcome and pampered.

We had a lovely time at Casa Beatnik! It was our first trip without Gwen (she was with her grandparents in Santander), and it was a peaceful and relaxing retreat. It's close enough to several beaches that you could easily take a day trip to the coast. Santiago de Compostela is a medieval city and UNESCO World Heritage Site, located just a 25-minute drive from Casa Beatnik. Spending some time in Santiago de Compostela is a perfect way to blend culture and history with relaxation.

We paid for our stay. As always, I share what I love.
