This is a photo we took in Iceland. It's also the photo that the TikTok user @joyceandlove has stolen to use as her profile picture. The person behind the @joyceandlove account leaves horrifically racist comments on other people's accounts. For those of you unfamiliar with TikTok, the app has a functionality that lets people create their own videos replying to these comments.
So while "Joyce" has just 27 followers and a private account... some of the videos sharing her hate speech alongside my image have been viewed 27,000 times and have 1800 comments. I've contacted these video creators directly to request that these videos are taken down and I have also reported the intellectual property violation to TikTok.
Still, there are people out there saying to go after me personally. They are saying it is my responsibility and my fault that the @joyceandlove videos are still live.
Strangers are leaving mean comments on my social media profiles. Even on photos of Gwen.
It's been a rough day.
I just wanted to post this to make it clear that I am not behind the @joyceandlove account, that I am working to have the account taken down, and that I am appalled by the comments that the account is making.
