So much has happened since I have written one of these posts! Most importantly I have become an Aunt! (To a real live human baby - I am an Aunt to my siblings' dogs but this is a bit different). Our niece was born a week and a half ago and Charles and I are excited to go over to London this summer to meet her!

Lately, I have also been traveling, writing, cooking, and attempting to work out. Oh, and hoping that the snow in Chicago will stop so that the sun can come up and warm weather can appear. Here is a little summary of my life lately.

Our home was featured on Neighborhooding! You can take a virtual tour right here.

Del Frisco's

Some girl friends and I dined at Del Frisco's and feasted on steak and seafood. I will have a full blog post to share with you soon.

I celebrated the start of Grilled Cheese Month with the mac and cheese grilled cheese at Cheesie's in Lakeview. Yes, it's the two best foods in the world, combined.

Charles and I went to a gala hosted by our friend Whitney Reynolds, who hosts The Whitney Reynolds Show on PBS (oh and I make a little appearance on the May 9th episode).

I spent last week in LA with my friends Lauren and Jocelyn. Lots of food was consumed. One Saved by the Bell cast member made me a snack. And I am going to share details with you very soon.

I grabbed lunch with a friend at Dove's Luncheonette - a fantastic little diner in Wicker Park. I had the Burnt Ends Hash and it was remarkable. The rib tips were almost like bacon, the potatoes were extra crispy, the eggs were runny, and the entire thing had just a kick of spice. You need to check out Dove's if you haven't already.

I attended the re-launch party for Tastings.com a website that provides tastings notes on wines, beers, and spirits. It's an amazing resource where you can find new drinks to try.

May promises to be filled with travel. I am going to New York City for a few days to meet up with my sister, and then we are going to Costa Rica together. We plan to stay on the Pacific side and would love hotel and restaurant recommendations (leave them right in the comments).

And lastly, tonight I am hosting a little get together to watch the most glorious show there is: Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt. I might have even gone to a fancy wine store, asked for Titus Burgess's Pinot Noir and felt like a moron, but I don't care - Pinot Noir for everyone! Kimmy is back! If you haven't seen the show yet, even my Mom says it is "a hoot". Have a great weekend everyone!
