Perfect Pairing, Holiday Parties and Le Medaillon

Le Medaillon Brut

This post was sponsored by Le Medaillon, and the opinions expressed are my own.

For most people, this is the busiest time of year. Our calendars fill up with parties and travel, and somehow there just aren't enough hours in the day to get everything done. If you are short on time, but still want to bring something exceptional to a holiday party, I have the perfect fuss-free idea. Instead of preparing something from scratch, bring Le Medaillon champagne, cheese, and prosciutto.

Brut and Art

I recently discovered Le Medaillon Champagne. It’s produced with grapes from a single vineyard in France, and the company is owned locally in Chicago. The vineyard in Celles-sur-Ources, France began producing grapes in 1788, and after years of selling their grapes to other wineries, they just recently created Le Medaillon Brut, Brut Rosé, and Cuvée Reserve.

Le Medaillon Brut received at 92 rating from Wine Spectator and retails for just $42.99 at Binny’s. It’s an affordable champagne with a high-end taste. It is dry, not overly sweet, and it has a nice crisp finish. It’s the type of champagne that is easy to love. Rosé has been all the rage lately, and Le Medaillon’s Brut Rosé is excellent and I like that it isn’t overly sweet. It’s bright and fruity and the bubbles are refreshing. The Cuvée Reserve is perfect for someone who loves the best of the best. It has a more delicate taste and a silky finish. All of Le Medaillon’s champagne offerings would be a lovely hostess gift, stocking stuffer, or first sip of 2016.

Le Medaillon

I have always thought that champagne turns a party into a celebration, and it conveniently pairs well with most foods. I especially love champagne paired with rich creamy hard cheeses (such as montasio and pecorino) and prosciutto. The saltiness of the prosciutto, the creaminess of the cheese, and the fresh fruitiness and bubbles of the champagne are the perfect combination.

Le Medaillon and Sunset

I think that the key to impressing the host of a party is to bring beautifully presented food, and a bottle of champagne that everyone will like, and you can’t go wrong with Le Medaillon paired with some cheese and prosciutto.

Le Medaillon is available at some Binny’s locations, use this product locator to find it!
