Jewel-Osco’s Wine Advent Calendar

Jewel-Osco’s Wine Advent Calendar

This is a sponsored post written by me on behalf of Jewel-Osco. All opinions are 100% mine.

Today we are preparing for the holiday season by talking about Jewel Osco’s Wine Advent Calendar! What could be more fun than 24 days of wine? Must be legal drinking age to enjoy.

The holidays are going to be a bit different this year. Like many people, most of the time I spend with my friends and family is done virtually. It’s always a challenge to make virtual get-togethers feel special. And it can be hard to find something to talk about when I rarely leave home.

This is where the Wine Advent Calendar comes into play. Jewel-Osco’s Wine Advent Calendar with 24 mini 187ml bottles of wine is the best way to count down the days in December leading to Christmas!

I love the idea of buying an advent calendar for yourself, and one for a friend or family member. Catching up, opening up that day’s advent calendar window, and then tasting the wine is a fun activity that you can do over video chat! Plus, it would give you something to look forward to at the end of the day.

You can opt to keep each day’s wine a surprise, or if you want to plan ahead so that you can properly pair your wine, you can head over to 24daysofwine.com to find pairing suggestions and tasting notes. Even if you do take a sneak peek, I recommend visiting 24daysofwine.com when you taste the wine so you can learn more about the winemaker, the appellation, the varietal, and the winemaking process.

The wine advent calendar isn’t just a cheerful way to count down the days to Christmas, its a way to boost your wine knowledge and a way to discover new American wineries! All of the wines are from California, Oregon, or Washington and the calendar features 24 different wines and 17 distinct varietals – there are no duplicates. Each advent calendar has 13 red wines, 9 white wines, and 2 rosés.

The wine advent calendar is available at Jewel-Osco which is my go-to local grocery store. One of the things I love about my Jewel-Osco location is that there is a big display of debi lilly design™ flowers and decor right when you walk in the door. Debi is a super talented florist and event planner – and one of my friends! Whenever I go into Jewel-Osco, it’s like a friend is there to greet me!

I love to have fresh flowers in my home, and the Debi Lilly white roses are a go-to. They are elegant and fitting for any occasion. The debi lilly design cut glass carafe is a perfect way to display them. I think that having flowers in the background of my video chats turns the call into an occasion. I love finding little ways to make every day special, and fresh flowers and tasting a new wine from the advent calendar are easy ways to brighten my days.

The Wine Advent Calendar is an exclusive, limited-edition product that can be found of Jewel-Osco and at the Albertsons Companies family of stores, including Albertsons, Safeway, Randalls, Tom Thumb, and Vons. Jewel-Osco also offers Grocery Delivery and Drive Up & Go™ for convenient ways to shop!

Ways to Pair the Wine with Food

Pair it with Cheese

Wine and cheese is a classic pairing but it takes a little skill to master which cheeses to pair with which wines. Luckily, the 24daysofwine site breaks it down for you. Pair a Sauvignon Blanc with tangy goat cheese, pair a Cabernet Sauvignon with aged cow’s cheeses, pair a Petite Sirah with a creamy cheese like camembert or brie, and pair Merlot with a blue cheese like Gorgonzola.

Pair it with Dinner

Pair Merlot with lasagna or roast beef, pair Sauvignon Blanc with scallion pancakes or tomato soup, pair Rosé with avocado toast, and pair Cabernet Sauvignon with spicy sausage pasta or steak.

Pair it with Dessert

Chocolate and red wine is an incredible combination. Cabernet Sauvignon pairs well with dark chocolate. Keep it simple and buy some chocolate truffles or a bar of dark chocolate, or make this easy chocolate pie.

Visit www.24daysofwine.com for so many more pairing ideas. I would love to know if you buy the advent calendar and how you plan to enjoy it!
