Today I am sharing a royal wedding watch party! Here is everything you need to know to throw the most fabulous soiree while you watch Meghan and Harry tie the knot! It is going to be deliciously fun! I have even made Royal Wedding Bingo cards so you can play a game while you watch.
This royal wedding is extra exciting because Meghan Markle is living every 30-something girl’s dream by marrying Harry and becoming a princess! Plus, I am a sucker for an American/British romance! Another reason why I am excited to watch the wedding is that it is on a Saturday – William and Kate got married on a Friday, which made it hard to watch live.
The royal wedding is taking place on May 19th at 12pm. This means that it is taking place in the (early) morning for those of us in the states. I recommend setting your DVR so that you don’t have to wake up at 7 am (or earlier) to watch the wedding in real time.
Even if you aren’t planning to watch the royal wedding, this party menu would be fun for a bridal shower or Mother’s Day brunch.
I created a menu based on an Afternoon Tea, which is the most British meal that I could think of. It might not quite be breakfast food, but I think it is an appropriate way to celebrate the royal wedding.
To make watching the wedding even more fun, I have put together a game of Royal Wedding Bingo! I made 4 different printable Bingo cards so you can play along while you watch.
I will be sharing the recipes for the Roasted Strawberry Crepe Cake, Tea Sandwiches, Vanilla Scones, Crown Cookies, and the Sparkling Strawberry Pimm’s Cocktail over the next few days.
If you want to go the extra mile, head over to Tea & Sympathy, an NYC-based online shop that sells Meghan and Harry tea towels, tea cups, and aprons, plus all sorts of British candies, chocolates, biscuits, and other grocery items. I just went to the shop a few weeks ago and the owner is so sweet!
And if you want London themed cupcake toppers, which I put in the tea sandwiches, here is a link.
