How did we get here? It’s been seven years? This blog was a gift given to me on my 28th birthday. So yes, that means I am turning 35 today.
The time has flown by. It has been over three years since I left my dull corporate job to pursue blogging full-time. I am so thankful for the career this website has become and for the friends it has brought into my life.
On my birthday, I like to take a look back at the previous year, so here we go:
In the past year I got to re-visit some of my favorite places, and discover some new destinations. This year brought me back to London, Paris, Helsinki, Piedmont, New York City, and of course, Maine.
And I was lucky that I got to go on a few trips with my favorite people. This past year Charles and I went to France, Estonia, Finland, and England.
Charles and I joined our friends Jenn and Bob in Scottsdale for a much needed warm-weather getaway. Oh and Jenn and I took a girls-only trip to Florida!
My friend Jenny and I had a blast in Lexington, we enjoyed a staycation at The Blackstone, and we spent a weekend in Traverse City.
My sister Kelly and I took an epic road trip through Provence this past summer. And we traveled a bunch to celebrate her wedding! We toasted her engagement in Newport, we went wedding dress shopping in New York City, I hosted her bachelorette party in Connecticut, and we celebrated her wedding in Kennebunkport.
Plus, I took solo trips to Grand Cayman and Portland, Oregon. I wrote all about traveling solo in this blog post – I got a huge response when I was traveling by myself!
I have also written a lot of recipes in the past year. Some of my favorites are:
Pomodoro Rustica
Chocolate Peanut Butter Pie
The Best Blue Cheese Dressing (it really is the best) seen here on a Wedge Salad
Greek Chicken Pitas
S’mores French Toast
The Kittchen Fun Facts:
The most popular recipes are for Bacon Wrapped Jalapeño Popper Chicken, Braciole, and Zucchini Lasagna.
I drove for the first time in 10 years when I partnered with car2go earlier this year.
I have spent over 100 days traveling since my last birthday. The longest trip I took was to Paris/Provence/London/Bath/Surrey. I was gone for 25 days!
I knit the red sweater in the above photos. It is probably one of the most random, but fun, brand collaborations I had done. The sweater is the Easy Krysten Sweater from We Are Knitters.
Over 1.5 MILLION people have visited this site in the past year. That blows my mind. And it means the world to me.
