A guide of what to watch during quarantine, quarantine projects to help keep you busy, virtual art experiences, free online courses, and more!
Charles and I have family in countries that are under lockdown and family that is self quarantining. Since I am currently 25 weeks pregnant with the IVF baby it took us 3 1/2 years to conceive, we are being extra cautious. We haven’t left home since Friday – except for my two trips to the doctor for glucose testing.
Just 11 days ago we were out celebrating Charles’s 40th birthday. So much has changed since then. Chicago is a city that prides itself on its restaurants, and now they are all closed (but still offering takeout and/or delivery). The streets are empty and everyone we know is working from home.
I wish that I could do more to help. I think that the most important thing that people can do is to exercise social distancing and to take it seriously. In addition to social distancing, I have brought on a part time employee that is in need of work during this time. Charles and I will be supporting local restaurants by ordering delivery – please do the same – we need to work together to save the restaurants.
The biggest thing that I can do is to help you find fun and/or productive ways to use your time at home. I have been assembling lists of tv shows and movies to stream on the various streaming platforms and I have compiled list of projects and other activities to help make the most of your time. I wish I could do more, but Charles and I need to do what is best for our baby and that means staying at home.

I also want to take a moment to express my gratitude to the grocery stores that are offering special hours for the elderly and immunocompromised. This is such a relief for me since pregnant women are considered to be more vulnerable. I never thought that I would be so thankful for access to fresh produce.
