Baskin-Robbin's Warm Cookie Ice Cream Sandwiches

The summer heat has made its way to Chicago, and I couldn't be any happier! We suffer through long cold dark and dreary winters, to be rewarded with glorious warm sunny summers. Chicagoans take full advantage of the warmth and fill the city's beaches, parks, patios, and rooftops. Nothing goes with hanging out outside like snacking on ice cream.

Recently I took an extended lunch break so that could get outside and enjoy the weather and deliver some ice cream sandwiches to my friend Erin who was at home with her new baby. Snacking on warm cookies with melted chocolate stuffed with ice cream was a special afternoon treat. And it just might become a regular thing.

The thing that I love about Baskin-Robbins Warm Cookie Ice Cream Sandwiches - other than of course the fact that the cookies are warm - is that you can pick your cookie and ice cream combination. We tried Peanut Butter Chocolate Cookie with Snicker's Ice Cream and Dark Chocolate Chunk with Icing on the Cake Ice Cream. But you can pick any combination you want - you can even use two different types of cookies to make the sandwich. You can add toppings like sprinkles and chopped almonds too!

This summer Baskin-Robbins is encouraging everyone to get in on the fun and "sandwich for a sandwich" - grab some friends, sandwich yourselves together and takes a selfie, Snapchat, or video and tag it with #sandwiching. Erin, the baby, and I took this fun photo together just before we all sat down for baby snuggles and ice cream sandwiches. It was pretty much the best way we could have possibly spent the afternoon.

Have you tried the new Warm Cookie Ice Cream sandwich yet? I would love to hear your favorite flavor combination!

This looks so delicious I want it right now. I think tomorrow I'm going to get a Stan's donut gelato sandwich. Well, no "think" about it. It's happening.
