Doesn't it seem like I have been traveling a lot lately? Wedding season is in full force, (three down, two to go!) which resulted in trips to Maine and Washington D.C. It seems like everyone has been commenting on how often I have been out of town. The other day I told my co-worker that I am not going anywhere until Thanksgiving. He had the sweetest reply, "You are going places, you just aren't traveling."
Let's get down to business. Here is what I have been up to lately.
Charles and I (and a large group of our friends) went to D.C. for our friends' wedding. While were were their we walked all over to see all the monuments, and we ate ... a lot. Of course I took dozens of photos of food, and no photos of the monuments...
My friend Jo-Nell teaches at Columbia College and she is the mentor for the Frank Magazine team, and I attended the talk they gave at the Apple Store. I was blown away by the talent and enthusiasm of the students who create the magazine. Frank Magazine is a sophisticated digital magazine, and it can be downloaded for free at the iTunes store. My friend Jillian had a launch party at Hubbard Inn for her novella series sex, love, and timing.
I had a lovely dinner at Beatrix with my former boss, who is moving to San Francisco, and some co-workers. This pasta was fresh, simply, and satisfying.
My Windy City Blogger Collective co-founders and I had a lunch meeting at Xoco, lots of food was involved.
My friend Anne and I went to the In Good Taste relaunch party and then finally tried dinner at Cocello (formerly Dillmans).
Plus, today I am the blogger of the day over at Gourmandize. You can read my interview here.
Now that we swing into fall, the weather is colder (it's a chilly 55 degrees right now), but things show no sign of slowing down. I hope everyone has a wonderful weekend!
