Mindful Snacking with goodnessKNOWS

Sharing is caring!

You probably noticed that I have been traveling a lot recently. One thing that I struggled with in the past was finding healthy snacks when I am traveling. It is so easy to just grab an ice cream cone, right? Unfortunately, the combination of skipping workouts and having indulgent snacks on vacation doesn’t help me fit into my jeans. (And I really don’t want to have to buy new jeans). Recently, I have been throwing a handful of goodnessKNOWS snack squares into my purse before I head out of town, and they have helped me watch what I eat when I am away.

Each package of goodnessKNOWS snack squares has four snack squares crafted with dark chocolate, nuts, toasted oats and fruit, and they are only 150 calories! They are a perfect on-the-go snack. It is great to have a better-for-you snack with me – especially for those times when I am stuck on a plane or bus for hours! Since goodnessKNOWS snack squares are portioned into four squares, sometimes I just eat two squares and save the rest for the next day. I can have just enough food to keep me full.

I have been working on mindful snacking since careless snacking is an easy way to undo all of the hard work I have been committing to at the gym! Mindful eating is all about paying closer attention to what you are eating. I have definitely been guilty of eating while working at my computer, but when I do that I tend to eat until the food is gone, instead of stopping when I am full. That is why I love how goodnessKNOWS snack squares are divided into four bite-sized squares – I stop and think before I eat another. I am able to control my portions.

When I am home and in need of a filling snack I love to serve goodnessKNOWS snack squares over a smoothie bowl. It is a great post workout snack, or a nice afternoon snack to hold me over until dinner. I just blend up frozen strawberries and peaches with a small vanilla yogurt, and then I add some fresh fruit and goodnessKNOWS snack squares on top. It’s so quick and easy, and it is loaded with fruit and protein.

Since healthy snacks and working out are a huge part of my summer routine, I wanted to tell you about goodnessKNOWS Try a Little Yoga Day Facebook Live! International Yoga Day is on June 21st, and goodnessKNOWS is celebrating by hosting Try A Little Yoga. Ali Fedotowsky-Manno will kick off the event on Facebook at 3pm EST, and fitness expert Liz Germain of Super Sister Fitness will lead a yoga class and registered dietitian Carlene Thomas of Healthfully Ever After will share recipes and talk about mindful snacking. I am excited to participate and take some time out of my day to focus on fitness and mindful eating.

One thing that I love about goodnessKNOWS is their outlook that is all about celebrating every step towards reaching your goals because even trying is pushing you in the direction of being your best self. So whether I am snacking on goodnessKNOWS snack squares instead of ice cream while I am traveling, or trying some new yoga poses I feel like I am on a path to being a better me. Even if mindful snacking and yoga aren’t for you – get out there and take a small step toward your summer goals, you might surprise yourself.

goodnessKNOWS also recently debuted a new, bolder logo design and new packaging that highlights those same, delicious ingredients on the front of the pack. Keep an eye out for the new look on shelves near you. Wondering where to find goodnessKNOWS snack squares? Use this link to find a retailer near you.
