The Hubbard Inn in River North has always been one of our favorite bars in River North. While it is on Hubbard Street, it’s a nicer space than most of the other bars on the street. It feels more grown up. And it’s the most gorgeous place for a holiday party since they take decorating seriously.
The space is filled with giant wreaths tied with gold bows, decorative oversized ornaments, and garlands. I was thrilled to partner with Hubbard Inn for the Windy City Blogger Collective’s annual holiday party.
They generously provided their third-floor space along with food and drinks for the 75 party guests. I have been throwing this party for three years now and Hubbard Inn was a breeze to work with. They replied to each question and request quickly and enthusiastically, and it made throwing a big party during my busiest time of the year so much easier.
At the party, Hubbard Inn’s bartenders mixed up delicious cocktails like the Rum Old Fashioned made with Mount Gay Rum, Luxardo Cherries, Demerara Sugar, and Orange Bitters.
The Fig Sidecar, made with Remy 1739, Cointreau, Lemon, and Fig Preserve was equally wonderful.
Our friends at Paris312 provided some decor in the form of their giant balloons with tassels. That’s Ashlee and Caitlin posing in the photo.
Each year we invite some small local businesses to have pop-up up shops at the event. This year Alice & Wonder, Generation Bliss, Paris312, See Song Designs, The Trendy Sparrow, Vo Jewelry, and all participated. It turns the party into a fun opportunity to finish holiday shopping while supporting female entrepreneurs.
Sprinkles contributed their delicious seasonal chocolate peppermint and gingerbread mini cupcakes, which we displayed on Paris312 cupcake stands.
My long-time hair stylist, Krista from K. Marie Hair Studio created festive braided hairstyles for both me and Ashlee (who is WCBC’s Director of Member Engagement).
And I wore a dress that Maison Jules kindly sent me, and I have worn it twice and received a crazy number of compliments.
And recently, we joined friends for brunch at Hubbard Inn. It was the perfect place to catch up with friends over a leisurely brunch. The Bears game was on in the background as we feasted on a pub-style brunch. Charles opted for the burger, which he loved.
While I had the fried chicken and biscuits with poached eggs – so amazing! I will need to go back ASAP!
If you are looking for a place to meet up for a holiday drink or meal, I highly recommend Hubbard Inn. The food and drinks are great and you couldn’t ask for a most festive atmosphere or more convenient location. And I can’t say enough good things about their private party spaces and staff!
