My Favorite Places for Food Delivery in Chicago

Velvettaco

You might have caught on to the fact that we love to get food delivered. We have reached a point in our lives and our relationship where the ultimate Friday night involves getting food delivered, drinking a bottle of wine, and watching a movie on the couch. I figure that I am not the only one who loves getting food delivered, so today I am sharing a list of my favorite places to order food delivery.

Before I jump into my recommendations, I should explain that I use delivery services and I tend not to order directly from the restaurants. My favorite services at Caviar and Postmates. Both are third party delivery services that aren't affiliated with the restaurants themselves, but they do a great job of delivering takeout quickly. I should also let you know that I live in Old Town and usually I get delivery from these specific restaurants in under 35 minutes.

Pizza: Happy Camper/Homeslice
What I order: We order from Happy Camper, but if you live in Lincoln Park, their sister restaurant, Homeslice is a closer option. I like the Tory, which has roma tomatoes, artichoke hearts, roast garlic, fresh basil, feta, and olive oil.
What Charles orders: He gets the Ken, which has pepperoni, mushrooms, roma tomatoes, red onions, and marinara.
How to order it: Caviar

Buck's

Fried Chicken: Buck's Fried Chicken
What I order: Fried chicken and biscuits and mac and cheese.
How to order it: Caviar

Blue Door

Salad: Blue Door Farmstand
What I order: Erin and I both love the Kale Caesar, and I am really not someone who loves kale. I also love the Chicken Cobb Salad.
How to order it: Postmates

Indian: Rangoli
What we order: We like the Palak Paneer, the Chicken Tikka Masala, and the Lamb Vindaloo with lots of Garlic Naan. Heads up that they really mean it when they say something is spicy. Even if you like spice, tell them that you want it medium spice (trust me).
How to order it: Caviar

Noodes in the Pot

Thai: Noodles in the Pot
What I order: I love the Chicken Satay and the Pad See Ew with Beef.
What Charles orders: Charles will order the Drunken Noodles and then eat what I ordered instead (this is incredibly frustrating).
How to order it: Postmates

Siam Rice

Pad Thai: Siam Rice
What I order: If I specifically want Pad Thai, Siam Rice is better than Noodles in the Pot.
How to order it: Caviar

Velvet Taco

Tacos: Velvet Taco
What I order: The Buffalo Chicken and the Tikka Masala tacos. I always get the Elotes too.
What Charles orders: The Bacon Cheeseburger and the Fish and Chips tacos.
How to order it: Caviar

Chicken Shop

Chicken: Chicken Shop
What we order: I love their rotisserie chicken and their mac and cheese is some of the best in Chicago. The chicken nuggets excellent and the avocado and butter lettuce salad has a really good mustard dressing.
How to order it: Caviar

If you haven't tried Caviar yet, you can use this link to get $10 off your first two orders. They also have a mobile app which I use all the time. It's great for ordering food while you are on your way home from the airport - and it saves past orders which is a big time saver.
