Choose the Table with Dietz & Watson

Sharing is caring!

I think that the number one question that I have been asked recently is if Charles and I see each other often given the fact that we both travel about 25 times a year. My answer is that of course we see each other, it just might not be every day. When we do see each other it is something special. I try to make the most out of nights when we are both at home and on  Wednesday night, I decided to transform dinner into a rooftop picnic! Chicago’s heatwave had finally broken, and it was the perfect night to be outside. And thanks to some help from Dietz & Watson products I was able to pull together a picnic in just minutes.

I have been a huge fan of Dietz & Watson products for years, so when they asked me to team up on a blog post it was a natural fit. Their premium deli meats and artisan cheeses are staples in my fridge. Dietz & Watson is a 4th generation family owned company, and they believe that food has the power to bring people together. I couldn’t agree more – I grew up in a family that ate dinner together every night, and now that I am grown up, Charles and I eat dinner together whenever we are both home. Sharing meals is very important to our family of two, and I love finding ways to make our meals extra special.

To create our picnic, I simply took some of the meats and cheeses out of the packaging and arranged them on platters along with with some vegetables and bread. I packed up some chips and dip, and I mixed up a batch of Strawberry Lemonade and we headed to the roof just before sunset.

The picnic was a way to take the stress out of a weeknight dinner and to have fun with my husband. It helped us to make the most of a night at home together, while eating a wholesome meal.

My newest obsession is adding Mississippi Comeback Sauce to sandwiches, so I mixed up a quick batch using Dietz & Watson mayonnaise. If you aren’t familiar with the sauce it is a tangy spicy mayonnaise based sauce that really makes a sandwich something extra special. It tasted great with Dietz & Watson Roasted Turkey Breast and Provolone Cheese.

Dietz & Watson wants to inspire people to try their products in new ways, and they have launched their Choose the Table Dinner Series Consumer Sweepstakes to celebrate this. A series of 10 dinners are taking place in cities across the country, and you have the chance to win a pair of tickets to one of the dinners!

I was lucky to experience a preview of one of these dinners and it was spectacular! Chef Massimo Gaffo from Mama’s Boy created a four course meal that combined fresh local ingredients with Dietz and Watson meats and cheeses. Trust me, this is a contest you want to enter.

Four winners in each city will win a private chef’s table dinner for themselves and a guest! To enter head over to the sweepstakes website. The Chicago dinner is taking place on November 14th at Mama’s Boy, and you have until October 31st to enter the sweepstakes.

If you are not in Chicago, there are dinners taking place in 9 other cities. Good luck!

Do you have any tricks for making weeknight dinners extra special? I would love to hear your tips in the comments! And be sure to use #ChooseTheTable when you share your own Choose The Table experience.
