On May 15th, some of Chicago's biggest culinary celebrities are banding together for a wonderful cause: The 2nd Annual Chefs' Playground, A Benefit for the Academy for Global Citizenship.

The chefs behind some of my favorite restaurants (Balena, Big Star, and Little Goat just to name a few) are rallying to support the Academy for Global Citizenship (AGC), an innovative charter school raising funds to build one of Chicago's very first net-positive energy school buildings. The AGC is on Chicago's southwest side and has the goal of teaching and empowering children to positively impact their community, the environment, and the world.

At the event, 18 notable Chicago chefs will present dishes inspired by childhood and school lunches. I can't wait to see and taste what the chefs create. The photos from last year's event make it clear that the food will be memorable. I love that the menu gives the chefs lots of room for creativity, while keeping things really fun. I hope that someone makes grilled cheese, as you know that was my favorite food growing up!

Chefs' Playground is being held at one of Chicago's most incredible venues, Terzo Piano at The Art Institute. The restaurant's large terrace offers stunning views of Chicago and Millennium Park. Terzo Piano has made The Art Institute a foodie destination, and their chefs will be presenting food at the event.

I am beyond thrilled, and honored, to say that I am the social media correspondent for the event. I am excited that I can help bring attention to such a worthy cause, while mingling with some of my favorite chefs.
