I’ve created a recipe for the best breakfast sandwich. This is meal is a way to get your day off to a great start.
I believe that the best breakfast sandwich is made with a fried egg, bacon, and avocado on a homemade cheddar cheese and green onion biscuit. The finishing touch is a drizzle of ranch dressing. It’s a filling breakfast that brings together some of my favorite foods.
I have a little obsession with ranch dressing, and I have gotten into making ranch dressing from scratch and then putting it on almost everything until it’s gone. The jar of ranch dressing in my fridge inspired this breakfast sandwich recipe. The ranch dressing makes this meal extra special. I love how ranch pairs with avocado, eggs, bacon, and cheddar. While putting ranch dressing on a breakfast sandwich might sound unusual, it takes the sandwich to the next level.
You don’t absolutely need to make the green onion or cheddar biscuits from scratch, but they are very easy to make. I usually make biscuits with a small biscuit cutter, but I used a larger one so that I could make an egg sandwich. You want the biscuits to be about 5 inches in diameter.
My recipe for green onion and cheddar biscuits will make about 8 large biscuits. Once you have made the biscuits, this meal comes together very quickly!
To turn my homemade biscuits into a breakfast sandwich, I crisped up some bacon in the oven and fried an egg. I topped the still warm biscuit with two slices of bacon, then the egg, a big slice of avocado, and about a tablespoon of ranch dressing. You could add in a slice of cheese, but I think that the biscuit is cheesy enough.

How to make the Best Breakfast Sandwich:
The recipe below is for one egg sandwich, but you can easily scale it to serve more.
- 2 slices of Bacon
- 1 Green Onion and Cheddar Biscuit
- 1 Large Egg
- sliced Avocado
- 1 tablespoon Ranch Dressing
First, you want to cook the bacon. Place it on a parchment-lined (for easy clean up) baking sheet and bake at 425 degrees until crisp. This will take about 10 minutes. Once the bacon is ready, transfer it to a paper towel to absorb any excess grease.
Next, prepare your egg. If you want the egg to perfectly fit inside the biscuit, place your biscuit cutter on your hot skillet and cook your egg inside the biscuit cutter. This way it will be just the right size. I linked to my instructions for perfectly cooking a sunny side up egg above. As soon as your egg is ready, assemble your breakfast sandwich.
Slice your biscuit in half. Layer the bacon on the bottom half of the biscuit and add the egg on top. Add the avocado and the ranch dressing on the top half of the biscuit and then layer it on top of the egg to assemble your sandwich. Serve immediately.
