I am super excited to announce that I created the burger for tonight's $10 Burger and Beer special at Trenchermen! The Wicker Park eatery features a different burger each Wednesday, and this week they let me create it! This is definitely one of the most fun projects I have taken on since starting The Kittchen four years ago. It's also an incredible deal, you get a burger AND a beer for just $10!

So what's on my ultimate burger? It's a juicy beef patty topped with gruyere, sautéed mushrooms, caramelized onions, sautéed spinach, and whole grain mustard on a buttery homemade roll. It's just as amazing as I imagined it would be. I love how the gruyere is melted just enough to hold everything together, while still remaining thick enough to stand out from the other ingredients. The whole grain mustard compliments the lightly sautéed spinach and mushrooms perfectly, and the caramelized onions add a hint of sweetness.

And to compliment the burger, the mixologists at Trenchermen created a cocktail based on some of my favorite ingredients. It's called "Winter Is Coming" (I know it seems unbelievable with this recent 70 degree weather) and it is made with vodka, rosemary simple syrup, Cranberry juice, and ginger beer. I suggested a cocktail loosely based on a Moscow Mule and they knocked it out of the park.

You can join the fun TONIGHT at Trenchermen Bar. This burger special is going to be featured on the menu for one night only (while the burger special happens every Wednesday, the burger is always different). The restaurant's address is 2039 W North Avenue, and it is just steps away from the Damen Blue Line Stop. I will be there with some friends and I would love for you to join the fun. Plus, $10 for a burger and a beer is a pretty phenomenal deal and a nice way to treat yourself on hump day!
