I promised myself that September would be about getting in shape. It’s what I need to do after eating so much fried chicken and biscuits in Nashville. Plus, it’s important that I strengthen my knee after hurting my IT Band climbing glaciers in Iceland. I have committed to spinning every day in September. It’s a high-intensity workout that helps to build up the muscles in my knee while burning serious calories.
After class I am hungry. I need food and I need it fast. That is where OLLY Smoothies comes in. I love their Chocolate Peanut Butter Workout Smoothie, and it helps me make nutritious post-workout smoothies fast.
I know that potassium is important after a workout, but I have never liked bananas. Fortunately, the chocolate peanut butter flavor from the OLLY protein powder transforms the taste of the banana. It tastes like a milkshake; it just happens to be healthy. These smoothies have become a part of my daily routine that I look forward to.
You might have heard that frozen bananas can be thrown in a blender to create “ice cream”. In this case, the frozen banana gives the smoothie a creamy texture, without needing to add any dairy. Just like the OLLY Smoothies mix, all of the ingredients in this smoothie are plant-based and vegan.
These smoothies are a delicious snack that I can feel good about eating. The OLLY Workout Smoothie mix has 35% of your daily protein and 25% of a dozen different vitamins. Plus, the banana adds potassium and dietary fiber. It gives me the boost I need to help my muscles recover so that I can make the most out of my day.
