It is time for another edition of The Rundown, where I recap all of the events that I have attended recently.

An Irish ice cream shop called Cone opened in the West Loop. What is an Irish ice cream shop? Well, it is an ice cream shop that serves boozy ice cream flavors like Bailey’s and Jameson. There are also alcohol free options. I loved the Jameson ice cream.

Le Pain Quotidien has been opening up a trio of Chicago locations. I had a wonderful brunch with my friend Jocelyn of Grandbaby Cakes. The goat cheese omelet with seasonal vegetables was delightful.

Craft Pizza Chicago opened in Wicker Park. This sister restaurant to Pizzeria Serio is serving up New York style pizza, and it is seriously delicious.

On Wednesday Kalla had a launch party at the Godfrey Hotel’s rooftop lounge. Kalla is a different, and more beautiful type of flower delivery service. The packaging and the flowers are stunning. Each arrangement comes in a different vase – and you have the option to add wine and chocolate to the order! The Georgia and Alfred bouquet, pictured below, was my favorite, and I enjoyed the strawberry margarita inspired by the arrangement. (fyi, Kalla is only delivering in Chicago and Florida at the moment).

The Kalla launch party had the most fun photo booth and gorgeous floral crowns for us to wear.

Yesterday I spoke at the United Fresh produce convention. Did you know that $994 million of avocados are sold in the US annually? That fact was mind blowing. Speaking at the convention was a great opportunity, and it turns out that my thoughts on produce trends line up with market research quite nicely.

Last night I attended a cocktail party at Nomi’s rooftop garden (at the Park Hyatt), where their mixologist taught us how to make some of Nomi’s signature cocktails. The Sticks and Stones cocktail, with vodka, apricot, white peach, and lemon was my favorite. It was a fun light summery drink.

Then, I headed over to 52 Eighty (at the Mile North Hotel) to have cocktails with Mode Media and some of my favorite bloggers. (Yes, I wore the exact same dress that I wore last time I was at 52 Eighty. This is one of many reasons why I am not a fashion blogger).

Alright, folks. That is all for now. Check back tomorrow for a big announcement. I mean, seriously HUGE. It is food related (only saying this to prevent pregnancy rumors).
