Spike TV is unveiling a new cooking competition show – and I am on it! My episode is the series premiere and it will air on Sunday, June 22nd at 10ET (9pm for Chicagoans). I can’t say too much about the show until it airs, but I will say that filming was so much fun and I am excited to watch the episode. The premise of the show is that contestants combine foods in a new and interesting ways to create a new Frankenfood. The winner gets $10,000 and their dish earns a spot on the menu at a local restaurant.
Frankenfood is hosted by Josh Capon and Tony Luke Jr, who also serve as judges. Josh is the executive chef and partner of Lure Fishbar, B&B Winepub and El Toro Blanco in New York City, and Lure Fishbar in South Beach, Miami. Tony Luke Jr is the cheesesteak king of Philadelphia and owner of Tony Luke’s. Frankenfood filmed each episode in a different bar or restaurant in a major city. Each week they are joined by a guest judge from the hosting bar or restaurant. My episode filmed at Reggies in Chicago’s South Side.
Mark your calendars and set your DVRs for June 22 10pm ET/ 9pm CT! I will be live tweeting and instagraming from the viewing party – which I am co-hosting with another contestant. Follow along by following @thekittchen on twitter and instagram. (Sidenote: the viewing party was an absolute necessity since I am moving the day before the show airs and won’t even have cable yet!)
