Homemade pita chips are easy to make in just a few minutes of active preparation time. I love to make parmesan garlic pita chips to serve with spinach artichoke dip, but they are delicious on their own too.
Servings6servings
Ingredients
3Pitas
2tablespoonsButterat room temperature
3clovesof Garlic
1tablespoonParmesan
1tablespoonChopped Basil
a pinch of Sea Salt
a pinch of Ground Black Pepper
Instructions
Heat your oven to 350 degrees.
Mix the butter, garlic, parmesan, basil, sea salt, and pepper together. It should have a consistency somewhat similar to a thick paste.
Spread a thin layer of the butter mixture on both sizes of each pita. Slice the pitas into 6 or 8 triangular slices, then arrange them in a single layer on a baking sheet.
If you want... you can add a little extra parmesan on top.
Bake for 10 minutes or until the bottom of the chips is golden brown. Then flip the chips and let the second side cook for about about 10 minutes, until golden.
Remove from the oven and let cool for a couple of minutes, and then eat!
Recipe Notes
Homemade pita chips do tend to get stale if they sit out too long. I recommend making these the day that you want to eat them. It is definitely best to make them, serve them warm, and eat them right away.
