Easy Ice Cream Parfaits

Sharing is caring!

It’s Gwen’s first birthday and we are celebrating by making easy Ice Cream Parfaits with some of our favorite Hudsonville Ice Cream flavors!

I love the idea of making ice cream parfaits since they can be customized to include your favorite foods, and they can be made in advance and kept in the freezer until you are ready to serve them. Plus, they are a delicious way to cool down from this summer heat.

To make the parfaits, you just need ice cream and a variety of toppings. We chose to use Hudsonville Ice Cream’s Seaside Caramel and Strawberry Cheesecake flavors. Use this Scoop Locator to find Hudsonville Ice Cream flavors in stores. We are seriously obsessed with this ice cream brand and I am sure you will love it just as much as we do! Be sure to visit the Hudsonville website to download a coupon for $2 off!

I picked Strawberry Cheesecake because Gwen loves strawberries and it’s such a great summertime flavor. It is loaded with fresh berry flavor that is paired with the sweet creamy taste of cheesecake. To please chocolate lovers, I chose Seaside Caramel which has caramel sea salt truffles and a swirl of salted caramel in vanilla ice cream. It’s perfect for people who love the sweet and salty flavor combination.

Once I had the ice cream, I rounded up a variety of toppings. I cubed some brownies and angel food cake. I got chocolate covered pretzels, strawberries, waffle cones, caramel sauce, chocolate sauce, nuts, sprinkles, and whipped cream.

Assembling the parfaits was simple. You scoop ice cream into bowls, add a layer of toppings, and repeat. Full instructions are below. It’s easy to customize this recipe to accommodate friends and family members who have food allergies or who are gluten-free (many of Hudsonville Ice Cream’s flavors are gluten-free).

For Gwen, I made a mini parfait with some angel food cake, Strawberry Cheesecake ice cream, sliced strawberries, and whipped cream. She loved it.

Happy Birthday Gwen!

Ingredients

  • Hudsonville Seaside Caramel ice cream
  • Hudsonville Strawberry Cheesecake ice cream
  • Angel Food Cake, cut into cubes
  • Brownies, cut into cubes
  • Waffle Cone, lightly crumbled
  • Chocolate Covered Pretzels
  • Sliced Strawberries
  • Chocolate Sauce
  • Caramel Sauce
  • Nuts
  • Sprinkles
  • Whipped Cream
  • Small Bowls or Cups

Instructions

To make the Seaside Caramel ice cream parfaits:

Place one scoop of the Seaside Caramel ice cream in half of the bowls. Add a layer of toppings. I like to pair the Seaside Caramel with chocolate, so I recommend adding a layer of brownies or chocolate covered pretzels. Then add a drizzle of chocolate or caramel sauce. Next add another scoop of ice cream and another layer of toppings. Add a final scoop of ice cream to the top and place in the freezer until you are ready to serve. Just before serving add whipped cream, nuts, and/or sprinkles.

To make the Strawberry Cheesecake ice cream parfaits:

Arrange a scoop of Strawberry Cheesecake ice cream in the remaining bowls. Add a layer of toppings like angel food cake and strawberries. Then add a spoonful of chocolate sauce. Add another layer of ice cream, more toppings, and a final scoop of ice cream. Place in the freezer until you are ready to serve, then top with whipped cream, nuts, and/or sprinkles.
