Steak Salad-13

I am excited to spill the beans about a project I worked on over the summer! I teamed up with Pre-Brands to create recipes for their new packaging! You might remember Pre-Brands since I have worked with them before, and I regularly use their products in my recipes.

I love Pre-Brands because their beef is 100% grass fed and free of added antibiotics and hormones. Plus, their packaging gives you a 360-degree transparent view of the meat you are buying. You can learn where to buy Pre-Brands beef right here.

Steak Salad

The first recipe that I am going to share with you is for a Sirloin Steak Salad. I love this recipe because it is really quick and easy to prepare and loaded with protein and vegetables.

Steak Salad-14

While you can use any cut of steak to top your salad, I like sirloin since it is a bit leaner. I have paired the steak with spinach, blue cheese, walnuts, tomatoes, and a balsamic dressing to compliment the beef. It’s a bold flavor combination – I especially like the steak and blue cheese together.

This salad is hearty enough to be split in half and shared. It’s also a nice way to serve any leftover steak you have.

  • 1 Sirloin Steak
  • 1 tsp. Butter
  • ½ tsp. Salt

Instructions

  1. Pat the steak dry with a paper towel. Season the steak with the salt and pepper, and rub it into the beef.
  2. Melt the half of butter in a pan over medium heat. Place the steak in a hot pan and cook for 2 minutes, then rotate 90 degrees and cook another 2 minutes.
  3. Add the remaining butter to the pan, and flip the steak and cook for 2 minutes, rotate 90 degrees and cook for 2 minutes. Remove the steak from the pan, and let it rest for 5 minutes. It should be a perfect medium rare.
  4. While the steak rests, assemble the salad. Place the spinach in a bowl and top with the blue cheese, walnuts, tomatoes, and dressing.
  5. Thinly slice the steak and arrange it over the salad.
