Cucumber Lime Gin and Tonics

Sharing is caring!

Cucumber Lime Gin and Tonics are a delicious and refreshing cocktail to have when you get home from work, or to serve at a party. Get the easy to prepare recipe below!

Cucumber Lime Gin and Tonic

Cucumber Lime Gin and Tonics are an easy and refreshing twist on the classic cocktail. It’s a cocktail that both men and women love, and the addition of cucumber and lime is thirst quenching and summery. Gin and tonics weren’t really on my radar until our recent trip to London, and when everyone seemed to be ordering them, I joined right in and have been drinking them since.

Cucumber Lime Gin and Tonic-4

I love this recipe since you can do all of the prep work ahead of time, and serve the gin and tonics in a pitcher so that guests can serve themselves. When I have guests over, I like to have a large format cocktail ready, this way I can focus on spending time with everyone and not on refilling glasses. Making a large format cocktail reduces the amount of mess I make and is faster than making individual drinks.

Cucumber Lime Gin and Tonic-2

While there is a good amount of gin in this recipe, the flavor of the cucumber and gin tones it down considerably. The cocktail doesn’t taste overly strong. You only need 4 very simple ingredients to prepare this recipe: cucumbers, limes, gin, and tonic. I made a batch that made about 8 cocktails, but you could easily double or triple the recipe if you are planning a big party.

I used Koval Dry Gin, it’s a local Chicago company and I think that their packaging is the prettiest! So many people keep their cocktail making supplies on display on bar carts these days, it is nice to have a bottle that you want to display. Koala’s packaging is made with cut paper.

Ingredients

  • 3 Cucumbers
  • 5 Limes
  • 1 1/2 cups Gin (I used Koval)
  • 5 cups Tonic Water

Instructions

  1. Slice 2 of the cucumbers, and place them in a large bowl. Then take 4 of the limes and peel off the rind. Add the rind to the bowl with the sliced cucumbers. Next squeeze the juice from the limes.
  2. Pour the gin over the cucumber and lime. Then take a wooden spoon and muddle the mixture crushing the cucumbers and lime rind for about 3 minutes. Place in the fridge to chill for at least 2 hours.
  3. When you are ready to assemble the cocktails, strain the gin to remove the cucumber and lime rind.
  4. Mix the cucumber and lime infused gin with the tonic water. Slice the remaining cucumber and lime and use the slices as garnish.
  5. Serve the cucumber lime gin and tonics over ice.

I am not the biggest gin fan, but the infused gin doesn't have a strong gin taste!
