Super Bowl Recipes

Just when you think that your New Years diet is going well… the Super Bowl comes long. It’s day that celebrates not only football, but calorie laden meaty, cheesy foods. But, everyone gets a cheat day, so save it for February 7th and make one of these Super Bowl Recipes. I chose recipes that are perfect for parties- they are crowd pleasers that can feed lots of people.

Appetizers

Roasted Garlic and Jalapeño Guacamole

Roasted Garlic and Jalapeño Guacamole – Roasting both the garlic and the jalapeños results in a guacamole bursting with flavor.

Meatballs on a Stick

Meatballs on a Stick – Meat and cheese come together in a man-friendly bite-sized appetizer. This is filling enough to serve in lieu of an entree.

A copycat recipe for Joe's on Weed Buffalo Chicken Dip

Buffalo Chicken Dip – Is it possible to watch the Super Bowl without eating buffalo chicken dip? I am not so sure. This dip is similar to a queso, but with a kick of buffalo spice and plenty of shredded chicken.

7 Layer Taco Dip - the appetizer you need to serve at your next party | via The Kittchen

7 Layer Taco Dip – This recipe only requires assembly, so even if you can’t cook, you can make this.

7 Layer Lasagna Dip via The Kittchen

7 Layer Lasagna Dip – Same concept as the taco dip, this is a hot cheesy dip with ground beef and tomato sauce that is great spread over toasted bread.

Bacon Cheeseburger Stuffed Peppers

Bacon Cheeseburger Stuffed Peppers – It’s a no-carb bite-sized burger. It’s easy to prepare and could even be made with turkey or bison instead of beef if you want to be a touch healthier.

Entrees

4 Ingredient Taco Chicken - via The Kittchen

4 Ingredient Taco Chicken – This crockpot recipe is easy, inexpensive, and since party guests can build their own tacos, even picky eaters will be happy.

Two Bean Bison Chili | The Kittchen

Two Bean and Bison Chili – Create a build your own chili bar by setting out toppings like avocado, cheese, sour cream, green onions, and fritos.

BBQ Pulled Pork Sandwiches - made in a slow cooker | via thekittchen.com

BBQ Pulled Pork Sandwiches – Football and barbecue just go together. These pulled pork sandwiches are made in a slow cooker so it is easy to prepare a large batch.

Creamy Cheddar Mac and Cheese via The Kittchen

Creamy Cheddar Mac and Cheese – I think it is a fact that everyone loves macaroni and cheese. This stovetop recipe results in the creamiest cheesiest mac and cheese possible.

Healthy Options

Broccomole, a delicious dip made from steamed broccoli - via The Kittchen

Broccomole – I created this broccoli dip for the Women’s World Cup, but you could easily draw a football field instead of a soccer pitch with the sour cream.

Roasted Red Pepper Hummus - via The Kittchen

Roasted Red Pepper Hummus – Homemade is much better than store-bought, and you could even add some chili peppers if you want to add a kick of heat.

Avocado Salsa

Avocado Salsa – This is part guacamole, part salsa, and part cowboy caviar, and a more creative option than guacamole. It’s also healthier than guacamole since it has more veggies.

Desserts

Caramel Pretzel Puppy Chow - via The Kittchen (from above)

Caramel Pretzel Puppy Chow – The best Super Bowl desserts are ones that can be set out in big bowls and munched on throughout the game. This caramel pretzel puppy chow is made with square pretzels dipped in caramel and covered in chocolate. It’s sweet and crunchy finger food.

Crispy Chocolate Toffee Bark

Crispy Chocolate Toffee Bark – This dessert is even easier to prepare, and you can add any nuts or extra toppings that you want.

Do you have big plans to watch the Super Bowl? Do you have any favorite recipes to snack on during the game? Let me know in the comments!

Not being a cheese lover is rather a down side to us celebrating Super Bowl but I'd happily keep that Puppy Chow to myself!
